Once again this book is a great addition if you want to learn Photoshop CC version 2015. Sure you will find some of the tutorials that were enclosed in version 2014 like chapter 5 for example (the magazine cover). However they are a few new chapters and tutorials are once again easy to understand and follow if you are interested in learning new functions and improve your PSD skills. I think that the best way to learn when you are a beginner is to realize all the Adobe tutorials online on the Adobe site or at home with eventually a cup of tea. I wished they had a site with quizzes to assimilate better the theory and test one's knowledge, but for the rest its is really a great book. Highly recommended if you are a beginner or if you need a refresh.

Failure to disclose that this book is identical in every way to the 2014 release, which can be bought a lot cheaper. The new updates to CC 2015 are not included in this edition. The illustrations are identical to the 2014 edition as well. Adobe should be more transparent. This ended up as a waste of time, and I returned to the Book to Amazon, since I have the 2014 edition.

I am new to Adobe Photoshop so this is the first book I have used. I purchased this a number of months ago and now that I have made it through the book I feel like I can more adequately review this manual. Because I am trying to teach myself how to use the program I need everything broken down to basics. This book does exactly that. It may not be suited for those who are well versed in the program as it may be too basic. It was easy to take everything step by step and chapter by chapter. The concepts were clearly illustrated and taught. I am by no means an expert but I now know my way around the program.

What a great book! The step by step guide helped me to learn aspects of Photoshop that I didn't even know existed. Be sure to download the lesson files that are included with the book on the website. I loved working with this book. It was fun and informative. It's a basic overview of all of the photoshop features. I did find that some of the lessons had aspects that weren't included in the current photoshop towards the end of the book. If you want to learn photoshop techniques then this is the book for you. I loved it so much I keep it beside my desk as a reference.

It's a survey book, so it covers a lot of ground. That's both good and bad. Good: it provides insight into Photoshop's capabilities. Bad: It tells you settings to change without providing any real understanding of why that particular setting does what you want and how varying that setting more or less would have been less effective. Which means, when faced with your own situation, you need to find something similar in the book (sometimes difficult) and then try to apply the stated fixes to your issue. Now that I have an understanding of what the program can do, I need a much better guide to help me understand how to apply Photoshop to my specific needs.It's a lot of money for a survey book that was out-of-date when I bought it. (Which meant that the tools were not always in the same place or used exactly the same way as the current model of Adobe CC -- a potential problem when Adobe makes continuous updates.) And errata sheet would have been very helpful and reduced much frustration.The approach using downloaded files was excellent.

I am not at all happy with this book. I don't like the setup nor do I like the thin cheap paper the book is printed on. The illustrations are very muddy and some of them bleed through to the opposing page. I certainly would not recommend this book as a instruction for Photoshop CC.

Great deal especially if you want to save a little money on your Photoshop education. The latest version is always a bit more expensive than one or two back, but changes are really not all that big. It taught me a TON of stuff I didn't know. Great book. NOTE: NEVER buy this book used, because you need the code in the back to get access to the website classroom. Always buy it new.

I love this book - it definitely deserves five stars. It goes over everything from basic opening of the program down to how to do 3D images. The "courses" are excellent and very simple to understand. I often refer back to this book when I can't remember how to do something.

For my granddaughter class in college. It's fine and great you can rent the books instead of buying books you aren't going to use again
